How to Create a Sales Invoice in Shkunweb

Prepare the details once, then use the Sale screen to enter, check and print each invoice.

This guide covers the accounting application's invoice workflow for small, medium and large businesses. It does not replace your business's review of tax treatment or document requirements.

1. Prepare the company, customer and items

  • Check Company Setup for the business name, address, state, PIN code and GST details used on your invoice.
  • Use Ledger Master to create or check the customer, including the billing address and contact details.
  • Use Stock Master to check item descriptions, units, HSN codes, tax rates and rate calculation settings.
  • Check the sale series and invoice printing format before entering a new bill.

A saved master record helps you reuse the same customer and item details across invoices.

2. Enter the sale

  1. Open Sale and choose Add.
  2. Check the invoice date and series, then select the customer.
  3. Select each stock item and enter pieces or quantity, the rate and any applicable item expenses.
  4. Check the amount and GST columns. Rate calculation follows the item's Stock Master setting.
  5. Review expenses before and after GST, the invoice total and any payment details.
  6. Choose Save or use the displayed Ctrl+S shortcut.

When an item's Rate Calculation is Default, quantity is used when present; pieces can be used when quantity is absent. If both pieces and quantity are entered, quantity takes priority. Explicit rate calculation settings follow the selected method.

3. Preview, print or share

Open Print for the saved invoice. Choose the copy type and preview the selected printing format. Confirm that the company details, customer address, items, totals and page breaks are readable before printing.

The invoice print designer controls your layout. WhatsApp invoice delivery needs the configured sender and approved message template. E-invoice and e-way bill workflows are separate actions and need the relevant service configuration; saving or printing an invoice alone does not submit it to a government portal.

Check these details before sending

  • Invoice number and date match the intended sale.
  • Customer name, address and GST details are correct.
  • Pieces, quantity, rate, discounts and expenses match the transaction.
  • Invoice totals and any recorded payment are correct.
  • The print preview uses the intended format and copy type.

Getting started with the free allowance

Shkunweb's published free allowance is once per company: up to 20 invoices or ₹15 lakh in cumulative sales, whichever comes first. It does not reset monthly or every financial year. Read the allowance and continued-use details.
